February Class: Life Story Class: What's in Your Heart?

Welcome to the February Life Story Class. It's about how to journal your life story and how to write a memoir of your life story.

I figured after the intense month of January and the 125 memories, we could use a little less specific of a topic and look at the more general--at first. Then, we will each get very pinpointed as we work through the journaling exercises or prompts this month.

This week, start with these:

WHAT IS IN YOUR HEART: A JOURNALING EXERCISE OR PROMPT: HOMEWORK FOR THE NEXT WEEK
You can either do this literally or figuratively. draw a heart on the page for each of the numbered prompts below. Fill in each with whatever is in your heart regarding that prompt. You might need to do multiple hearts for each number, by the way.

Ask yourself all of the possible questions that come to mind about the numbered prompt.

For instance, take #1. WHAT is in your heart? I would start by writing anything that came to mind until nothing came to mind anymore. Then, I would ask myself, WHAT? Objects maybe. I would then write every object that I thought of that has a place in my heart. What are my favorite possessions? What are my favorite hobbies? What are my favorite foods? What are my... You get the idea. With each question, I would do a new heart.
1 Who is in your heart?
2 What is in your heart?
3 Where is in your heart?

Be thorough. Spends lots and lots of time on this.

HOMEWORK FOR 08-28 FEBRUARY 2013
Then, the next three weeks, we are going to look at each heart and pick a minimum of 3 items there to journal about and how it relates to our life story. How does each item define or describe our lives? How have they made us who we are? What have they meant to us?

That's it.

Fairly simple. It will just take some time. 28 days, as a matter of fact.

Enjoy!

30-Days of the Memory Launch Pad Journaling and Memoir Class Notes

DAY 2

HOMEWORK
Write 25 more memories today.

HANG ON
Hang on. I know what you are probably thinking. Didn't we do this yesterday? Yes. You did. We are going to do this every day for five days. Then, we will start diving into the depths of each of the 125 memories--and write any other memory that comes to mind as we do.

There is a reason why we are getting 125 down on the page in 5 days. Hang in there with me, please. It's just for 5 days.

TIPS
Write whatever comes to mind, the second it comes to your mind. Do not
think twice. Just get it down on the page.
IDEAS
Write 5 of and of the below:
- Happy memories
- Sad memories
- Challenging times
- Times of success
- Times of doubt
- Times with family
- Holidays
- People in your life

30-Days of the Memory Launch Pad Class

30-Days of the Memory Launch Pad Class: Day 1

WELCOME
Welcome to a FREE journaling and memoir writing class. You can journal, write memoirs, or do both and get a lot out of this 30-Day class.

You might want to read this at this time so you can get a feel as to what to expect of this class:

Let's face it. Our memories are parts of our stories. They are not the full story by any means. However, trying to retrieve  remember, and journal/write our stories can inspire us to journal about something more. It can stir the muse, inspire us, and transform us.

Our memories are our legacy. The way we think of  remember, and apply the evaluated experience of these memories each add to this legacy. It does not matter if we want to share our legacy--or just write it, it's very important for us all to at elast write our legacy and our memories on the page.

We are going to try to get as many of our memories down on the page in January as possible. This is our goal.

HOMEWORK: A JOURNALING EXERCISE OR PROMPT
List at least 25 of your memories today. Write at least a sentence description of each. Write more about each if time allows and feel free to write more than 25 memories.

TODAY
I am keeping it simple today and will go a lot more in depth tomorrow.

Best of wishes to you as you mine your memories.
